At discounted pricing, providing those guarantees simply does not make financial sense for our business. This isn’t about lowering standards—it’s about transparency, sustainability, and setting clear expectations for families.

Different price points come with different benefits—but our values never change.

  • Yes. Always.
All parent dogs in our program undergo extensive health testing appropriate for their breed, including genetic screening and orthopedic evaluations when age-appropriate. A puppy not having a health guarantee is a pricing structure decision, not a reflection of reduced health standards or care.

  • No.
Every puppy—regardless of price—is raised in our home with the same intentional care, early socialization, and handling. Lower pricing reflects timing, availability, or program considerations—not a reduction in quality, health testing, or ethical breeding practices.

    • Puppies must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of go-home

    • If a puppy goes home on a Saturday or Sunday, the exam must occur by Tuesday at 6:00 PM MST

    • Any concerns must be reported promptly

All findings must be reviewed by my veterinarian, and the puppy may be required to be evaluated by my veterinary team.

  • The following are not covered:

    • Giardia, Coccidia, or other intestinal parasites (beyond the medication contribution noted above)

    • Illness related to stress, environment, travel, or exposure after placement

    • Conditions caused by injury, neglect, improper nutrition, or post-placement veterinary decisions

    • Minor or non–life-impacting conditions

  • If a concern is identified:

    • The puppy must also be evaluated by my veterinarian

    • If a qualifying condition is confirmed, a credit (not a refund) will be issued

    • Credits are non-transferable and valid for 12 months

  • To reserve your puppy, we require a $1,000 non-refundable deposit (or 50% if the puppy is under 8 weeks old). For puppies over 8 weeks, the full purchase price plus Idaho sales tax is due to secure your spot. Deposits can be paid via Stripe on our website or through Good Dog checkout if you’d like to use Klarna financing. Once reserved, your puppy is officially held for your family.

  • All health guarantees, credits, and disputes are governed by Idaho law, with venue in Canyon County, Idaho.

  • Because clarity matters.
Clear, written policies protect the puppy, the family, and the breeder. At Boise Doodle Co., we believe ethical breeding includes transparency, education, and setting realistic expectations—before emotions get involved. This approach leads to better matches, healthier dogs, and happier long-term outcomes.

  • While the formal health guarantee has clear timeframes, my support does not suddenly disappear. If something unexpected arises later, I encourage families to reach out. I’m always willing to have an open, honest conversation and review veterinary records with my veterinarian.

While outcomes may vary and no guarantees apply outside the stated policy, my goal is always the same: to support the dog, advocate for responsible care, and help families navigate next steps in a reasonable, fair way.

Clear policies = confident decisions. Here’s the short version.

Parasites & Common Puppy Illnesses

Giardia, Coccidia, and other intestinal parasites are not covered under this health guarantee.

These organisms are extremely common in puppies and can be contracted or become clinically active due to:

  • Stress

  • Travel and transport

  • Environmental changes

  • Diet transitions

  • Vet visits or grooming exposure

Even puppies who previously showed no symptoms can test positive once stress impacts the gut.

As a courtesy and gesture of goodwill:

  • If a puppy tests positive for Giardia or Coccidia, I will contribute up to $100 toward prescribed medications.

Health Guarantee Policy for Puppies $2,499 and Below

At Boise Doodle Co., puppies priced at $2,499 and below are offered without a health guarantee. This pricing reflects a reduced rate that does not include the additional costs associated with long-term health coverage, extended veterinary oversight, and financial reserves required to responsibly offer a formal health guarantee.

This decision is not personal—and it’s never about lowering standards. It’s about running an ethical, sustainable breeding program that allows us to continue providing exceptional care for our dogs and puppies.

Offering health guarantees requires significant ongoing investment, including advanced health testing, specialty veterinary care, and long-term breeder support. At discounted pricing, providing those guarantees simply does not make financial sense for our business, and setting clear expectations protects both families and our program.

What You Can Expect

Even without a health guarantee, our values do not change.

  • All puppies are raised with intention, transparency, and care.

  • I will always take a puppy back if it does not work out, at any point in the dog’s life.

  • If a licensed veterinarian identifies a health concern that was not known or evident at the time of placement, I will gladly offer a credit equal to the amount paid toward another puppy or dog from my program, available now or within 12 months, subject to availability.

  • Any health findings must be reviewed and confirmed by my veterinarian.

There are no cash refunds of any kind, but I stand behind my dogs and will always work with my families in good faith.

  • Continue investing in our dogs’ health and well-being

  • Support families long after go-home day

  • Run a sustainable, transparent breeding program

Different price points come with different benefits, and this structure allows families to choose what best fits their needs—without pressure or confusion.
